Cherry Garden (Chinese)

Nice surroundings and well-trained staff, plus consistently good food such as nourishing doubled-boiled soups and oven-baked lobster in spicy XO-cheese sauce. Got a tight schedule? Order the Lily set ($48), which they guarantee will be served in 45 minutes flat.

Garibaldi Italian
Restaurant & Bar

A pillar of Italian cuisine in this city, Garibaldi offers great service and tantalizing food. The three-course set lunch menu ($39, includes coffee or tea) changes weekly and includes dishes like home-made tagliatelle with bacon, leek and mascarpone cheese.

HAN (Japanese)

Minimal and contemporary but still very Japanese, this 56-seater specializes in kushikatsu (deep fried skewers) and serves lunch sets with seven sticks for $75. The menu changes seasonally but might include Kurobuta pork and mushroom with cream cheese.

JAAN (French)

At $58 for three courses or $88 for five, Jaan is ideal for important business occasions as well as ladies who lunch. The fine-dining French menu offers temptations like ballotine of quail and foie gras and 60 second saba fillet with smoked ratte potato. Polish off your meal with desserts such as Bounty Gourmandise (coconut mousse, passionfruit heart and milk chocolate ganache).

Keystone Restaurant (European)

Located in the heart of the CBD, this chic European restaurant has garnered a strong following. Decor is classy yet minimal, but they don't scrimp on service. Set lunches are $38 for three courses, with three to four choices for each course.

Les Amis (French)

Fantastic food and service, set in a space that is divine. The set lunch is $58 for a two-course and $70 for a three-course meal, with a tempting choice of three options for each course. Highly recommended are starters such as smoked eel with marinated beets and mains like Maine lobster with chanterelles. Desserts are exquisite.

Majestic Restaurant (Chinese)

Majestic lives up to its name with exemplary contemporary Chinese recipes by chef-owner Yong Bing Ngen. There are offerings such as stewed mee sua with oyster and crab roe. It’s priced at $50 per person for the five-course set lunch. Desserts here are to die for.

OCF (French)

Situated on the second floor of The Arts House along the Singapore River, OCF has a definite period feel. French-trained chef Jonathan Koh presents a la carte plates with starters like Encornet, Brittany squid, black rice cremeux and mussel vinaigrette, plus mains such as dry aged American prime striploin with parsnip puree. There's an extensive list of wines, with a particular focus on boutique French bottles. It’s a polished spot that should impress deal-making execs.

The Moluccas Room (Indonesian)

If you want something a little unusual for lunch, this is just the ticket. Rattan-backed chairs, dark wood tables, parquet flooring and batik-inspired motif pillars make an excellent environment to enjoy Indonesian delicacies. Lunch with three courses ($35) includes a menu signature, confit Sakura ayam.

Punjab Grill by Jiggs Kalra (Indian)

The $40 weekday lunch menu has options for vegetarians as well as omnivores. Choose from an equally appealing range of dishes such as savory-sweet dahi de kebab (yogurt kebab with cardamom and coriander) and chicken tikka masala. Both veggie and meat sets come with Indian flatbreads and lime juice, iced tea or homemade ginger ale.
